I'm Kendall Kendrick, mom to four girls, voice actor, Nutritional Therapy Practitioner, motivational speaker, and host of the show Born Primal: Conversations With the Ancestral Health Community. I live on my urban homestead with my family, where we tend to our 20ish chickens, fruit trees, and vegetable gardens on less than a 1/3 of an acre.
For 16 years I worked as an on-air radio personality. My heart was always seeking a career that would fulfill me and allow me to share how I've overcome many challenges in life. From childhood trauma, drug addiction, mental health struggles, body image issues, disordered eating, sugar addiction, and self loathing.
In 2010 I found the Paleo diet. Ancestral health was the final piece of the puzzle for me after a decade of primal style parenting. I learned that we can live healthier and happier lives by adapting principles from our hunter-gatherer ancestors into our evolutionary mismatched lives. I believe that an ancestral template is crucial to opening up the channels to healing past trauma and balancing our modern day existence.
I decided to embark on a new journey and studied with the Nutritional Therapy Association while creating a practice dedicated to helping people live a holistic life that encompasses healthy eating practices, lifestyle, mindfulness, and empowerment. After two decades as a radio personality and voice actor, I took my love of public speaking to the next level and started sharing my journey and expertise as a motivational speaker. In my talks, I speak about recovering perfectionism, letting go of control and shame, finding balance, and creating a fulfilled, peaceful life.
I recently spent a year working in local food policy where I coordinated school gardens with our school district, another passion of mine. If you're interested in starting school gardens or learning more about how to teach children about healthy food in your school district, please check out the work I've done in that field here.
